Haleakalā or the East Maui Volcano is located on Maui Island. This is one of the most beautiful spots I have ever visited. Easy to ascend to the top by car. The altitude might leave you a little breathless but so will the view (in a good way.) I'm sure any mountain of height can give you a feeling of reverence for the world, but there is something about being able to see ALL the land and ocean surrounding you in every direction. If you get the chance I would strongly encourage your visit. Oh and bring a coat at 10,023 feet (3,055 m) even a place in Hawaii is bound to be cold.
