Christianity in South Korea is strong despite the fact that the percentage of the population that professes to be Christian is only 29% (Pew Study). Compared to the 73% of Americans who are Christian that seems slight but if you visit the city of Seoul you will feel more connected to the religion than in any other city in the East and frankly most in the West. Looking at the city at night you are struck by the proliferation of Christian iconography (red crosses specifically) (check out blog by By Seo Ji-eun ). Pictured is Myeongdong Cathedral, finished in 1898, the first Gothic-styled church in the country.

It is an impressive building and must see if you visit the city.
